Apple Brie Torte

I was bored and had some left over Brie cheese and apples and this idea kinda just came to me. Turned out be a hit. The apple sauce is multi functional I originally made it for crepes.

I was bored and had some left over Brie cheese and apples and this idea kinda just came to me. Turned out be a hit. The apple sauce is multi functional I originally made it for crepes.
Steps
- 1
Slice apples like you would for an apple pie. Place in bowl and cover with cinnamon sugar. Set aside.
- 2
Take Brie cheese and cut rinds off. Coat in egg wash roll in walnuts and wrap in plastic wrap. Place in fridge until ready to use.
- 3
Preheat oven to 350.
- 4
Melt butter in sauce pan. Add apples, allow to cool down and soften allowing juices to extract and caramelize. Then slowly add brown sugar, vanilla or the captain, and you may want to throw another dash of cinnamon or apple pie spice to it. It is key to so this at a low temperature so that you do not burn the butter and so that the sugar can create a creamy sauce texture. You may have to add another half stick of butter. Measurements were not precise when I made this.
- 5
Take Brie and slice it, take slices and layer it in the crust. Once oven is ready place in oven for 10-12 minutes.
- 6
When the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly pull out. Let rest for about 1-2 minutes then cover with apple sauce.
- 7
You want to serve it hot for the complete flavor experience. It goes excellent with Blue Bell homemade vanilla or cinnamon ice cream.
