Ingredients

  • 1 cupsamai rice or little millet
  • 2 cupwater
  • 1onion
  • 2-3green chillies
  • 1tomato
  • 1small potato
  • 1 tsppea nuts
  • 1/2 tspmustard
  • 1/2 tspjeera
  • 1/2 tspbengal gram
  • 1/2 tspurad dal
  • 3-4curry leaves
  • 5-6cashew nuts
  • Salt and turmeric powder
  • (You can green fresh peas, carrot if available)
  • 3 tbspoil

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash two times samai and keep it aside. Chop onion,tomato, chillies and peel and cut the potato into small pieces. (Then great coconut and chop coriander leave. These two are optional).

    Heat oil 1 tsp and little roast the samai rice and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard, jeera, curry leaves, Bengal gram, urad dal and saute well.

  3. 3

    Add pea nuts and cashew nuts and saute well. Add chopped chillies & saute well. Add chopped onion, potato, tomato & fry well. Add salt and turmeric powder.Then add two cup water and boil. When water starts to boil, add samai rice and cook for 3-4 minutes. Rice should boil properly and it becomes smooth.Then off the gas stove. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and grated fresh coconut powder. You can have it like breakfast or lunch. It is good for diabitic patients& Healthy rice.
