#fish and seafood ILISH KORMA is one of the authentic and traditional recipe of Bangladesh . ILISH KORMA is a rich preparation of ILISHA fish , where it is cooked in a gravy of onion , garlic and ginger . Even little cashew paste and Garam masala powder are also used which obviously a bit unique .

Steps

Wash the ilish fish and rub some turmeric powder and salt to the fish pieces and leave for 15 minutes.

Heat oil in a deep pan or wok and fry the slices onion till they are become golden brown and crispy.

Heat oil in a wok and lightly fry ilish fish and strain from the oil.

Temper the oil with whole cinnamon, bay leaf and green cardamom.

Add the onion paste and cook on low flame till the onion are golden brown.

Add ginger and garlic paste along with 2 or 3 slit green chillies and cook till the mixture leaves the edges of the wok.

Add little water in the case found the mixture drying much.

Now add curd and mix thoroughly and cook in medium flame till the oil separates from the mixture.

Add salt and sugar to the mixture and mix well.

Add cashew and fried onion paste mix well. Add raisins and cook till the nutty aroma goes completely from the mixture.

At this point add milk along with 1cup of water and bring to boil.

Add fried fish and cook 5 minutes or till the gravy thickens and oil separated from the mixture.

Add ghee and Garam masala powder.

Serve ILISH KORMA with only STEAM RICE 😊😊
