Soak basmati rice for half an hour.

In a pot take 4 to 5 glass of water and add whole spices,Bay leaves and oil to it.When it comes to boil add rice to it and cook till 90%. Drain the rice and keep it aside.

Clean the prawns and remove outer shells. Then add all the ingredients for marination. Leave it for 30mins.

In a pan take oil and add chopped onion to it. Saute till it's become transparent. Add chopped tomato and cook till oil will separate.

Add marinated prawns and Capsicum to it. Cook for 10 mins.Add coriander and mint leaves. Add fried onions to it.

Take a thick bottomed vessel and spread oil to it. Now spread some rice and then spread prawns. Again spread rice. Then spread fried onions and food colour over the rice.

Pour ghee and spread green onions.

Cover it and cook for 15 to 20 mins on medium flame. Do not open the lead immediately.
