Thoroughly wash the rice and greengrams, soak the rice for 15 minutes and the greengrams overnight or for 2 hours.

Put the greengrams in a clean sufuria with some salt and bring them to a boil in the 3 cups of water. This should be about 15 to 20 minutes. The greengrams should be nice and soft at this point, that is cooked, if not add a little more water.

Reduce the heat to low and add in the clean rice, once it comes to a boil add some little more salt if it's necessary. Slightly stir and cover and let cook for 7 to 10 minutes. The water shouldn't dry up.

After the 7 to 10 minutes add in the coconut milk, stir to mix it well and cover and let cook for another 10 minutes.

Add in the thick coconut cream, stir to mix well and cover and cook for another 10 minutes.

Don't let it dry up, if it does add very little coconut milk because at this point you are supposed to mix, stir and mush with a mwiko. Continue this process until the rice and greengrams are nicely mixed together.

Serve with stew of your choice.
