Ingredients

  • bisque
  • 1 tbspolive oil
  • 1 quartchicken broth
  • 1/2 cupchopped onion
  • 1/2 cupchopped celery
  • 28 ozcrushed tomato
  • 3 clovegarlic
  • 1salt
  • 1 tbspsugar
  • 1 tspcayenne pepper
  • 1 tspbasil
  • 1/2 tsppaprika
  • 3 tbsprice
  • 1/2 cupmilk or cream

Steps

  1. 1

    chop onions, celery, and garlic

  2. 2

    pour oil into pot and heat medium-low

  3. 3

    add onion and celery

  4. 4

    sweat for 5 minutes until onions translucent

  5. 5

    add garlic and stir constantly for 5 minutes so no browning occurs

  6. 6

    add chicken broth, tomatoes, rice, salt, sugar, paprika, basil, and cayenne

  7. 7

    bring to boil and simmer until soft for 35-45 minutes

  8. 8

    use hand blender to blend soup

  9. 9

    add heavy cream or milk and stir

  10. 10

    salt and sugar to taste

  11. 11

    simmer for 10 minutes
