When I was little my mom always made the best homemade chicken noodle soup, and as I got older the recipe was handed down. So now I'm handing off the recipe to you guys. Enjoy!!! I know I always do!!

Put chicken breast into 8 quart pot, fill with water to about 2-3 inches from the top.

Boil at least 4 hours, until there is a good natural broth. Just make sure to check it occasionally, so that the broth doesn't boil off completely. If it starts getting low just add more water until its back at the starting level.

Once you've finished boiling the chicken add your seasonings. I always make the broth without first so it keeps the natural flavor and it is just that much stronger.

Add the shelled sunflower seeds. **skip this step if not using them**

Boil an additional 10 minutes, then add noodles. Boil 7-10 minutes more, or until noodles are tender.
