Steps

Scrub the outside of pumpkin, pat dry, peel, scrape out seeds and cube

Grate garlic, slice onion and hot pepper if using

Heat oil in pot over medium heat, add onion and hot pepper ( if using) ,cook until onion is ligth golden brown add garlic and cook until translucent

Add pumpkin stir to cost with oil, reduce heat to low,cover and cook till tender, stir occassionally so it doesn't stick

When pumpkin becomes tender use the back of a spoon and mash until it is a paste like consistency and there are no chunks

Cook until any liquid from pumpkin has evaporated and it begins to stick to the pot

Stir in cumin

Serve with roti, pita or naan
