Ingredients

  • 1onion
  • 1 packagesyellow split peas
  • 1scallion
  • 1 packagessmoked turkey necks
  • 1scotch bonnet pepper
  • 1 tbspchicken seasoning
  • 1salt
  • 1pepper
  • 6 ozwater

Steps

  1. 1

    Clean split peas

  2. 2

    Clean smoked turkey necks with vinegar and water

  3. 3

    Blend seasonings, onion and scallion till puree

  4. 4

    Add 6 cups of water, split peas, smoke turkey necks, 1 scotch pepper (puncture hole in pepper), and seasonings into pot to boil

  5. 5

    After boil, lower heat and let it cook for 20 minutes

  6. 6

    Take out smoked turkey necks and Scotch pepper

  7. 7

    In a blender puree split peas and broth till smooth consistency

  8. 8

    Once split peas are pureed add smokey turkey and enjoy
