Ingredients

  1. 1 lbground beef
  2. 1/4 cupchopped onion
  3. 1/2 tspsalt
  4. 1/2 tsppepper, divided
  5. 1 lbmedium shell pasta, cooked and drained
  6. 1 lb(4 cups) shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  7. 1 carton(24 oz) small-curd cottage cheese
  8. 2eggs, beaten
  9. 1/3 cupgrated parmesan cheese
  10. 1/3 cupdried parsley flakes
  11. 1 jar(26 oz) spaghetti sauce

    In a skillet, cook beef and onion until meat is no longer pink and onion is tender; drain.

  2. 2

    Sprinkle with salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper; set aside.

  3. 3

    In a large bowl, combine pasta, 3 cups of mozzarella cheese, cottage cheese, eggs, Parmesan cheese, parsley and remaining pepper; stir gently.

    Pour into a greased 13 in. X 9 in. X 2 in. or shallow 3 qt. baking dish.

  5. 5

    Top with the beef mixture and spaghetti sauce (dish will be full).

  6. 6

    Cover and bake at 350°F for 45 minutes.

    Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella.

  8. 8

    Bake, uncovered, 15 minutes linger or until the cheese us melted and bubbly.

    Let stand 19 minutes before serving.
