Mix the ground beef with the crushed rice, salt, spices, and olive oil. Shape into small balls. Broil in the oven until browned and firm, or fry in oil if you prefer.

To make the sauce, blend the canned tomatoes well and mix with the tomato paste and salt. Stir in boiling water until combined, then cook over the stove for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.

In a cooking pot, add the meatballs and diced vegetables, then pour in the sauce. Continue simmering until the meatballs and vegetables are fully cooked and the sauce thickens.

Serve with white rice and vermicelli.
