1/2 cupshortening
1 cupsugar
1/2 cupmolasses
1/2 cupsour milk (add 2 tsp vinegar)
3 cupall-purpose flour
1 tspbaking soda
1 tspcinnamon
1/2 tspground cloves
1/2 tspsalt
1 cupraisins
1egg

Preheat oven to 350°F

Cream shortning, sugar.

Add molasses and sour milk.

Sift together flour, baking soda, spices and salt.

Add to creamed mixture.

Add raisins, and then add the egg last of all.

Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.

Bake for 35 minutes.
