Ingredients

  1. Peach filling
  2. 1/4 cupBrown sugar
  3. 1/4 cupWhite sugar
  4. 1/2 cupall purpose flour
  5. 1 tspcinnamon
  6. 1/2 tspsalt
  7. 10 cuppeaches (about 3 pounds)
  8. 1 tspcornstarch
  9. 1 tbspwater
  10. 1lemon, juiced
  11. 1 tspbutter
  12. Crumb topping
  13. 3/4 cupBrown sugar
  14. 1/4 cupWhite sugar
  15. 3/4 cupall purpose flour
  16. 3/4 cupoats
  17. 1/4 cupslivered almonds
  18. 1/2 cupdried cranberries
  19. 1/2 tspfresh grated nutmeg
  20. 1 tspcinnamon
  21. 1/2 tspsalt
  22. 1 stickunsalted butter, room temperature, cut into 8 pieces.

Steps

    Preheat oven to 450°.

    For peach filling:

    Stir together sugar, flour, cinnamon and salt in large bowl.

  4. 4

    Add peach slices and gently toss to coat.

  5. 5

    Mix together cornstarch, water and lemon juice into slurry and stir into peaches to incorporate.

  6. 6

    Butter dish and add peach mixture.

  7. 7

    For crumb topping:

    Add dry ingredients to medium bowl.

  9. 9

    Add butter pieces and combine with hands until crumbly.

  10. 10

    Top peaches with half of the crumb topping.

  11. 11

    Place in oven and immediately reduce temperature to 350°.

  12. 12

    Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.

  13. 13

    Add remainder of crumb topping.

  14. 14

    Reduce heat to 325°.

  15. 15

    Bake until golden and bubbling, another 45 minutes.

  16. 16

    Remove from oven and let sit for 15 minutes before serving.

    Serve with vanilla ice cream or fresh whipped cream.
