Pre heat oven 200° &lightly grease tray

Sift flour & salt together into bowl. Lightly rub in butter.

Stir in shallots. Make well in flour mix. Pour in milk all at once. Using knife quickly mix to soft, sticky dough.

Place on lightly floured surface & kneed lightly. Divide mix into 8 portions, form into rounds. Place close together, brush with milk & sprinkle with poppyseed.

Bake 15-20 min until golden & sounds hollow when tapped. Cool on wire rack.
