Steps
- 1
Crush 1 cups worth of crackers. Usually, this is done with Ritz or Club or Saltines (lower the salt), but most crackers and even a few non-cracker ingredients can be substituted to taste/circumstance.
- 2
Coarsely chop 1 cups worth of fresh spinach. canned or frozen can be substituted, but the recipe is better with all fesh produce. that being said, it is difficult to incorperate large fresh leaves into a patty mixture, so chop the spinach to a conveniently small size.
- 3
Again, freshly shredded cheese is best, but preshedded is more than ok. Usually, Colby or Monterey jack us used, but the recipe is good with many different cheeses. Try different cheeses for the most noticeable difference in flavor.
- 4
Mix all ingredients in a large bowl. This is done easily with CLEAN hands, but if that erirds you out you can take an hour with a spoon, or use a very large mixer to do it effortlessly (but I doubt most people using this app have one).
- 5
form mixture into 8 large, 10 medium, or 16 small patties. set aside with, seperating patties by foil or plastic wrap in they are stacked.
- 6
heat olive oil on a large pan or griddle over medium heat.
- 7
depending on your pan/stove/electric griddle, flip patties after about 5 minutes, or when gliden Brown on the bottom.
- 8
The second side will usually take slightly less time
- 9
Serve plain, over salad, or on a sandwich.
