Ingredients

  • 4 ozarrugala
  • 1 ozchives
  • 1/2 cuppremium extra virgin olive oil
  • 5 ozaged parmisian cheese
  • 1 tspfresh ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cuplemon juice
  • 2/3 cupshelled roasted pistachio
  • 1/2 cupwater
  • 1 tspred pepper flackes more if you like it hot.

    In a blender add all wet ingredients. Then add arrugala,and nuts blend on medium / high.While blender is running add rest of ingredients through the opening on the cover of the blender. If it gets to thick for the blender add a little more water.

    Once it's all well blended add salt to taste.

  3. 3

    You can combine pesto with warm pasta and veggies or pasta and pre cooked proteins for a great casserole. Also great as a pasta salad . My favorite beach food is pasta with shredded store bought rotisserie chicken, slathered in pesto. Add generous dusting of extra parmisean and Yummy yum .

I am a native New Yorker and as such , I consider myself (at least from a culinary stand point) a global trekker. It was from my grandmother that I first discovered the power of food. "If you cook they will come". So from the time I could reach the the top of the kitchen counter , my grandmother and I have been cooking together. It has always been the way I connect with people. Not that I was always great at it, but I was never intimidated by the cooking process.
