For syrup: Add 800 grams of sugar, 500ml of water and lemon juice (of 1-2 lemons, depends how much you like lemon) in a saucepan. Let sugar dissolve, and bring to a boil. Cool completely.

For batter: Put 400ml of water and 100ml of oil into a saucepan, and bring it to a boil

Remove from heat. Mix flour and baking powder in a separate bowl, and constantly stirring, add flour mixture into the water and oil saucepan. Mix well and cool completely.

When it's completely cooled down, add eggs, one by one, and after every egg, mix well with an electric mixer.

Put the batter in a piping bag with a big star tip (1,5-2cm), and make 7cm (3 inch) long stripes on lightly greased cookie sheet. Don't put much oil on a cookie sheet, a few drops are enough.

Bake in a preheated oven on 180°C for 25 minutes.

As soon as you take your tulumbs out, put them on a plate or in a bowl and soak them in cold syrup overnight.

Serve cold, with a slice of lemon.
