Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 cupsred lentils (about 285 grams)
  2. 1/2 cupvermicelli noodles (about 50 grams)
  3. 1/4 cupoats (about 20 grams)
  4. 6 cupswater (about 1.4 liters)
  5. 3chicken bouillon cubes
  6. Optional: 1.75 ounces (50 grams) cooked beef with sautéed onions

Steps

  1. 1

    Bring the water and bouillon cubes to a boil.

  2. 2

    Rinse the lentils well and add them to the pot. Cover and simmer over low heat until the lentils are cooked, about 1 hour.

  3. 3

    Add the oats and cook, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

    Add the vermicelli noodles and let the soup boil for about 10 minutes.

  5. 5

    You can add the cooked beef with sautéed onions either at the beginning of cooking or at this stage.

  6. 6

    Pour into a serving bowl and enjoy.
