Ingredients

  1. 1 cupOats
  2. 1 cupSuji/Rava /semolina
  3. 1 cupCurd
  4. 1/2 teaspoonsalt or as per taste
  5. 1/4 teaspoonTurmeric powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoonRed chilli powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoonHing
  8. 1/2 teaspoonginger garlic paste
  9. 1/4 cupWater or as required
  10. 1/2carrot grated
  11. 1 tablespoonbottle gourd grated
  12. 1 tablespooncoarsely crushed corns
  13. 2 teaspooneno fruit salt
  14. 1 tablespoonoil
  15. 2 tablespoonsChopped coriander leaves
  16. 2 teaspoonWhite sesame seeds/safed til
  17. 1 teaspoonMustard seeds/Rai
  18. 8-10Curry Leaves

Steps

40 minutes
  1. 1

    Grind oats in grinder to prepare oats flour.

  2. 2

    Mix oats flour, suji, curd, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and make a lump free batter.

  3. 3

    Add chopped coriander, ginger-garlic paste, carrots, bottle gourd and corns and mix well, let the batter rest for 15 minutes
    (Can add little water to adjust the consistency.)

  4. 4

    Preheat the oven at 180 degrees.

  5. 5

    Grease the pan with oil and keep aside.

  6. 6

    For the tempering heat pan with oil and add mustard seeds, sesame seeds and curry leaves.

  7. 7

    Pour half the quantity of tempering to the prepared Suji oats batter along with fruit salt and mix well.

  8. 8

    Pour the batter to the greased pan and spread leftover tempering on the surface.
    Sprinkle some red chilli powder, sesame seeds and bake in oven for 30 minutes.

  9. 9

    Insert a toothpick in handvo if it comes out clean, handvo is properly cooked.

  10. 10

    Serve oats handvo hot with green mint coriander chutney or sauce.
