Buñuelos made with wheat flour are very popular in my region.

Pour the flour into a large bowl, add the eggs, and knead the mixture.

Add the sugar, baking powder, chicha, butter, 1 teaspoon of salt, and the milk.

Knead for about an hour, then let the dough rest. For best results, prepare the dough in the morning and let it sit in the sun all day.

In the evening, once the dough has rested, take small portions, flatten them, place small pieces of cheese in the center, and cover them with dough to form balls.

Fry the balls until golden brown. To check if they're done, insert a fork into one; if it comes out clean, they're ready.

Once golden, remove the buñuelos and place them on a tray lined with paper towels to drain and cool.

They're ready to eat! Serve with chicha, horchata, or hot coffee.
