Ingredients

30 -40 minutes
3 servings
  1. 400 gramsDehradun basmati rice
  2. 250 gramspaneer cut into long slices
  3. 1large potato cut into cubes
  4. 1.5onion chopped
  5. 1 teaspoonginger paste
  6. 6-7garlic cloves crushed
  7. 1tomato chopped
  8. 1mace
  9. 1nutmeg crushed
  10. 1starsnise
  11. 1black cardamom
  12. 3-4green cardamom
  13. 2-3cloves
  14. 1 tablespoonbiryani masala
  15. 1-2boiled eggs sliced
  16. 5-7 strandskesar soaked in warm milk
  17. 2-3 dropsmitha atter
  18. 1 teaspoonred chilli powder
  19. To tastesalt and sugar (optional)
  20. As neededoil and ghee

Steps

30 -40 minutes
  1. 1

    Boil water in a pot, add salt,and all the whole masalas

  2. 2

    Add washed rice and par boil,drain the water and keep aside

  3. 3

    Add ghee in a deep pot fry the potatoes till it changes colour, keep aside

  4. 4

    Now fry the paneer slightly and keep aside

  5. 5

    Add some more ghee and add onions,fry till they get golden brown.keep some of it aside to use later

  6. 6

    Add ginger garlic paste and saute well adding salt and turmeric powder

  7. 7

    Add tomatoes and red chilli powder and saute well

  8. 8

    Now add the potatoes and paneer mix sugar

  9. 9

    Now cover it with the cooked rice

  10. 10

    Sprinkle ghee biryani masala and milk soaked with kesar and mitha atter

  11. 11

    Garnish with fried onion and boiled eggs and cover

  12. 12

    Keep on a low flame and cook for another 10-15 minutes

  13. 13

    Serve it with raita
