"HAMBAGU" is one of the most popular dishes in Japan. It's basically a hamburger without the bun. But "HAMBAGU" or the Japanese hamburger is tastier and juicier with a very soft texture.
Steps
- 1
Prepare the ingredients. 1. Finely dice the onion. 2. Mix the breadcrumbs with the milk.
- 2
For the breadcrumbs, it's recommended to use panko, which is Japanese-style breadcrumbs, because they are larger and crunchier. You can find it in any supermarket in the international foods section.
- 3
Add a tablespoon of oil to a pan and heat.
- 4
Add the onion and sauté over low heat for 10 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
- 5
In a bowl, mix the ground beef, cooked onion, breadcrumbs with milk, egg, salt, and black pepper.
- 6
Mix well by hand (about 50 times).
- 7
This is how the meat should look after mixing.
- 8
Divide the meat into 4 pieces and shape into oval, flat patties with your hands.
- 9
Press the center to make it thinner, as the center takes longer to cook.
- 10
Add a tablespoon of oil to a pan and heat.
- 11
Place the patties in the pan and cook over medium heat for 3 minutes on each side without covering.
- 12
Lower to low heat and add 2 tablespoons of water. Cook for another 3 minutes on each side with the lid on.
- 13
Insert a toothpick, and if clear white juice comes out, the hamburger is ready. (If the juice is not clear and red, cook a little longer.)
- 14
Prepare the sauce. In the same pan where the hamburger was cooked, mix the red wine, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce, and cook over low heat.
- 15
Serve the hamburgers with the sauce and enjoy!
