Egyptian Whole Wheat Flatbread

Mix the yeast with the sugar and 2 tablespoons of warm water. Let it foam.

Place the flour and salt in a large bowl and mix well.

Gradually add the warm water and knead thoroughly. Then add the yeast mixture. The more you knead, the better the result.

The dough should be soft but not sticky or too firm.

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place.

Once the dough has risen, dust a baking sheet with flour and shape the dough into medium-sized balls. Let them rest for 15 minutes.

Dust your work surface with flour and roll out each ball to a thickness that is not too thin or too thick.

Roll out all the dough balls and cover them.

Heat a large nonstick skillet over the stove.

Once hot, cook each flatbread one at a time. When the bottom is golden, flip to cook the other side. Repeat until all are done. Enjoy!
