Solkadhi is a Marathi appetizer drink generally served before or with spicy dish like Biryani.It is also very popular in other western regions of India like Konkan and Goa.

First soak cocum in hot water for about 30 minutes

Squeeze the locum pods to extract juices.Drain the pods and retain the warm water with extract in it.

In a mortal and pestle grind together garlic, green chillies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds and salt. Grind them to a coarse paste.

In a bowl mix together fresh coconut milk, cocum extract and spice paste.Stir well to combine.

Taste it and adjust the seasoning if required. Pour the mixture in a serving glass and garnish with coriander leaves.Serve chilled with any spicy main course.
