Ingredients

  1. 1 cupblack dal
  2. 1oniin finely chopped
  3. 2tomatoes grinded
  4. 4 tbspghee/oil
  5. 2 tbspamul butter
  6. 2 tbspmalai
  7. 1 tbspginger garlic and green chilli paste
  8. 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
  9. 1/4 tspgaram masala powder
  10. 1/4 tspdhania powder
  11. 1/4 tspkasturi methi

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak black dal with enough water overnight.

  2. 2

    In a pressure cooker add salt and pressure cook dal with enough water for 7-8 whistles.

    Let the pressure cooker cool.

    Open the lid.

  5. 5

    Vigorously mix the dal.

  6. 6

    In the side take a pan ; heat ghee/ oil ; saute onions till transparent.

    Add tomatoes ; ginger garlic and green chilli paste.

    Mix well.

    Add malai and all the dry masalas.

  10. 10

    Saute till oil leaves the sides of the pan.

    Add this to the dal mixture and mix.

    Add water ; boil it for 25-30 mins.

    Keep on stirring.

    Check the consistency.

    Add butter.

    Transfer in the lunch box and keep rotis or parathas with it.
