First, soak the kidney beans for 7-8 hours and the black gram lentils for 1/2 hour. Then, cook the kidney beans and black gram lentils in a pressure cooker with salt and 2 cups of water.

Now, heat oil and butter in a pan, add cumin seeds, whole dried red chilies, and bay leaf, and sauté. Add the ginger, garlic paste, and finely chopped onion, and sauté well. Then, add the finely chopped tomatoes and sauté everything well.

Sauté the spices until the oil separates. Now, add all the spices and red chili powder, and sauté for 2 minutes.

Now, add the cooked kidney beans and bring to a boil.

Transfer to a bowl, add cream, and garnish with cilantro. Serve with rice or tandoori roti.
