Mix vanilla and milk together. Heat milk and bring to boil

Beat sugar, egg, egg yolks in separate bowl using hand or stand mixer until frothy

Pour 1/4 cup warm milk to the egg mixture and blend once again

Now pour the egg mixture to remaining milk and mix
- 5
Return the saucepan to heat. Stir constantly on low medium heat until it starts thickening. Do not boil the egg mixture. If using vanilla pods, remove from the mixture

Allow to cool completely. Add cream and blend again

Pour in chilled container. Freeze for 3-4 hours
- 8
Blend gelato again. Freeze overnight. Using ice-cream scoop, serve cold
