Maa Chole Di Dal (Split Black Gram and Chickpea Lentils)

First, mix both lentils and wash them thoroughly.

Now take a pressure cooker, add the lentils, 4 cups of water, salt, and turmeric. Cook until two whistles, then let it simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.

In a pan, add butter, then sauté ginger, garlic, and onion until well browned.

Add the tomato puree and all the dry spices, sauté well, and then add this mixture to the cooked lentils. Mix thoroughly.

Your Maa Chole Di Dal is ready. Serve hot with layered parathas.
