Japanese steamed Cake variation with Cocoa and Walnuts. Apart from the use of Cocoa powder as a twist, Steaming them in Idli moulds is also a lovely innovative idea by me. The original version of these lovely steamed Cakes is already on my profile here. These gorgeous and melt in mouth Cakes are a bliss when served with Tea or Coffee. Since they are steamed in Idli moulds, these can very well be named as "Chocolate Idlis". Thus a fusion recipe of two most lovable Cuisines, Indian and the Japanese.

Steps

Whisk the egg with milk, oil and sugar. Add in the flour, powdered walnuts and the cocoa powder. Grease the idli moulds and steam them for 10 mins. Check by inserting a skewer after 10 mins.

Serve hot or warm with tea/coffee. Can also be served with dollops of your favourite Ice cream.

Do not de mould them immediately or open the lid. Do it after giving a standing time of 5 minutes in order not to let the steam escape thus maintaining the soft and spongy texture of the cakes.
