Ingredients

  • 1 cup + for dustingMaida
  • 3/4 tbspSugar
  • 1/2 tbspSalt
  • 1/2 tbspBaking powder
  • 1 tbspOil
  • 1/2 cupCurd
  • 1½ tbsp + for greasingHot water
  • 1/4 cupKalonji
  • Ghee - for greasing

Steps

  1. 1

    Take the maida in a mixing bowl.
    Add sugar and salt.

  2. 2

    Add oil. Then, add curd and mix well with your hand.

  3. 3

    Add hot water, little by little, and knead it into a soft dough.

    Cover it with a lid and allow it to rest for 3 hours.

    Open the lid.

  4. 4

    Take medium-sized portions of the dough and roll them into flat shapes between your palms.
    Dip it into a bowl of maida and place it on the rolling base.

    Roll it into a long oval shape using your rolling pin.

  5. 5

    Heat a tawa on the stove.
    Apply water on one side of the rolled naan dough.
    Flip it over and place it on the tawa in such a way that the wet side is facing downwards.
    Now, flip the tawa upside down, such that the naan is directly in contact with the heat.
