Chinese-Style Dipping Sauce for Boiled Chicken

This dipping sauce is inspired by the first sauce served at a Chinese restaurant I visited. The chicken there was over 200 baht for half a bird, but I really loved the sauce. So, I bought half a chicken from the market for just 80 baht and recreated the sauce at home. This recipe comes pretty close to the original. Making it yourself means you can enjoy plenty with the whole family!

Steps
- 1
Buy half a boiled stewing chicken from the market. Chill it in the refrigerator for about 2 hours, then shred it into pieces. When served cold, it has a texture similar to Chinese drunken chicken.
- 2
To make the special dipping sauce, simply mix the light soy sauce with Chinese black vinegar, add sesame oil, coarsely chop the garlic, and slice the chili peppers to add in.
- 3
If you prefer a tangier flavor, add more black vinegar. If you don't have black vinegar, you can use regular vinegar. I personally love this style of dipping sauce and often make it for hot pot. If you're tired of seafood dipping sauces, give this one a try!
