Grease tray with ghee very well and keep it aside.

Heat the ghee in a pan on low flame. Once ghee melt add besan. Stir and fry the besan well.

Fry the besan till it becomes aromatic and golden brown. Switch off the gas and keep it a side.

Heat 1/4 cup water and sugar in another pan on low flame.

Stir well till the sugar dissolved. Continue to cook the sugar syrup till you get 2 thread consistency.

Now add besan to it. Mix well. Add cardamom powder, finely chopped cashews. Switch off the gas. Mix it well. Pour this mixture into the greased tray or plate.

Sprinkle finely chopped almonds on top. Cut besan burfi into square. Store it in air tight container.
