In the Luhya community, circumcision was one of the Major ceremonies since it marked transition from childhood to adulthood.
This event attracted many in the community and several goodies were cooked. This meal was a special one to the age-set since
a) Contains vitamin A which prevents infections and speeded healing after circumstances.
b) It's magnesium content was a source of strength.

    Wash your potatoes.
