To make the cream, dissolve the cornstarch in 2 tablespoons of water.

Add the sugar to the milk and heat over medium heat until it starts to boil. Add the flavorings and the cornstarch mixture, stirring quickly to prevent lumps. Once the cream thickens, remove from heat and stir in the clotted cream until well combined.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C), using both the top and bottom heat if possible.

Grind the bread and pour the melted butter over it. Mix well.

Grease a tart pan, press the bread mixture into the pan, making sure to press it up the sides to form a crust. Bake in the oven until lightly golden.

Pour sugar syrup over the crust, let it cool, then invert onto a serving plate. Spread the cream on top and decorate as desired. Enjoy!
