Preheat oven to 180°c.grease baking pan. Measure all your ingredients. Sift flour, cocoa powder and baking powder

In a bowl whisk butter and sugar until light and fluffy

Add chocolate essence and whisk

Add eggs one at a time beating well in each addition

Add flour alternating with milk in 3 batches

Pour in a prepared 1 and a half kg pan bake for 50min to 1 hr.until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Cool on cooling rack

Layer and crumb coat your cake.keep in the refrigerator 15min

Cover with fondant and decorate as you want
