Boil 2 1/2 cup water in a thick bottom pan, add salt,2 cloves, 2 cardamom, 1 bay leaf, saffron, food colour and soaked rice. Give it a nice stir and cook till 3/4th done. Remove excess water and spread rice in a big plate.

Now mix 1 cup of milk,1/4 cup water and 1/2 cup sugar in a pan, give it a boil and keep this syrup aside.

Heat tawa on medium flame. Place a non stick pan or a heavy bottom pan over it.

Heat ghee, add cloves, cardamom, bay leaf and dry fruits and grated coconut, saute for few seconds.

Now add milk and sugar syrup, give it a nice mix.

Add cooked rice, remember we do not want to break rice grains so, mix it gently.

Cover it with a lid and cook till all the moisture evaporates and rice also gets cooked properly.

Garnish with some nuts and serve hot.
