Ingredients

  • 1 cupmung dal
  • 1 tspcumin seed
  • 1bay leaf
  • 1red chilli
  • 1 tspginger paste
  • 1 cupdesiccated coconut
  • 1 tspturmeric powder
  • To tastesalt and sugar
  • As neededoil

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat a pan dry roast the mung dal and boil

  2. 2

    Heat oil and temper cumin seed,dry red chilli and bay leaf

  3. 3

    Add ginger paste and saute well adding salt and turmeric powder

  4. 4

    Add coconut and fry well

  5. 5

    Add the dal and sugar and boil

  6. 6

    Serve it with rice
