Ingredients

  1. 20-22 Spinach leaves fresh and medium size leaves
  2. 150 gmsGram flour– (Besan)
  3. 1/2 TspRed Chilli powder–
  4. 1/4 TspGaram masala powder–
  5. 1 TspChaat masala–
  6. 1/2 TspAjwain– (carom seeds)
  7. 1/4 TspTurmeric–
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. As neededOil–for frying

Steps

    Wash and dry the spinach leaves.

  2. 2

    In a wide pan make a thick batter by mixing besan, turmeric, ajwain, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and 1/2 tsp chat masala powder and some water.

    Heat oil in a wok.

  4. 4

    Dip each spinach leaf in batter to coat it evenly. Drop the leaf gently in the oil and fry it on a medium heat till the pakoras are crisp.

  5. 5

    Remove and drain on tissue paper.

  6. 6

    Sprinkle chat masala on palak pakoras and serve them hot with tomato sauce along with a cup of hot masala chai.
