Soak chana daal in water for one hour.

Soak the rice in water for half hour.

Pour oil in the Pan and heat it. Put chopped garlic in it. then put chopped onion and cummin seeds in it.When it is brown in colour put chana daal in it.

Now put rice in it. now pour 3 bowl water and salt in it. Cook it on high flame for 5min. then cook 10 minutes on low flame. Now it is ready to eat.serve with curd or kadhi.
