In a bowl add the beef, cumin, black pepper, cloves, garlic, ginger, ¼ tsp of salt and 1 tsp of oil then mix thoroughly. Cover the mixture with cling film and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

After 20 minutes add marinated beef in a cooking pot and cook on medium heat until the beef dries up.

Add 2 tbsp of oil to the beef then stir and cook for 2 minutes.

Add the chopped onions and cook for 5 minutes while covered before adding the tomatoes.

When the tomatoes are well cooked add your desired amount of water (depending on how thick you want the soup to be) then let stew boil on medium heat.

Serve with your preferred starch. I served mine with chapati.
