In a pressure cooker, add onion, tomato, ginger, turmeric powder, red chilli powder & 3 cups water to the cook.

Stir well & pressure cook till the Moong dal is cooked & soft.

The pressure cooker settles down, remove the lid & stir the dal.

If dal looks thick & then add some water & simmer for 1-2 min.

Add salt.

Now in a small pan. Heat ghee or butter, fry the jeera & add garammasala powder, then switch of the flame.

Pour tadaka in the dal.
