Ingredients

  1. 3/4Moong dal
  2. 1medium size onion, finally chopped
  3. 1medium size tomato,chopped
  4. 1/2 inchginger, finally chopped
  5. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  7. 3 cupwater
  8. 2-3 tbspghee or butter
  9. 1/2 tspgarammasala
  10. 1 tspjeera

Steps

  1. 1

    In a pressure cooker, add onion, tomato, ginger, turmeric powder, red chilli powder & 3 cups water to the cook.

  2. 2

    Stir well & pressure cook till the Moong dal is cooked & soft.

  3. 3

    The pressure cooker settles down, remove the lid & stir the dal.

  4. 4

    If dal looks thick & then add some water & simmer for 1-2 min.

  5. 5

    Add salt.

  6. 6

    Now in a small pan. Heat ghee or butter, fry the jeera & add garammasala powder, then switch of the flame.

  7. 7

    Pour tadaka in the dal.
