Ingredients

40-45 minutes
  • 1 ltrmilk (warm)
  • 100 gmsBasmati rice
  • 80 gmsSugar
  • Pinchsalt
  • 2 tspghee
  • 7-8Saffron strands
  • As neededRoughly chopped cashews, almonds and pistachios
  • 1 tspcardamom powder
  • To tasteDry rose petals

Steps

40-45 minutes
  1. 1

    Wash and soak rice in water. Soak saffron in 2 tbsp of warm milk and keep aside.

  2. 2

    Heat a heavy bottomed pan. Add ghee and let it melt.

  3. 3

    Add soaked rice and stir for 2 minutes on a low to medium flame.

  4. 4

    Now add the warm milk to it and mix.

  5. 5

    Let it boil, stir occasionally. Reduce the flame and cook till it's thick and creamy.

  6. 6

    Add soaked saffron milk and cardamom powder and stir well.

  7. 7

    Cook till the rice softens. Add chopped dry fruits and keep stirring.

  8. 8

    Add sugar, salt and cook for few more minutes. And it's ready.

  9. 9

    Garnish with dry rose petals. Serve warm or chilled as per your preference.
