Bacon and Tofu stir-fry in Japanese Style gravy Bacon and Tofu stir-fry in Japanese Style gravy
Japanese style stir-fry with gravy (It's called "An-kake, pronounced "kakay"). Made with whatever I found in the fridge. You can use any vegetable or meat for this dish. I used home-made bacon to add flavor, but you can omit it if you are vegetarian. I would have added mushrooms if I had them. The gravy (An) is usually made with potato starch as a thickener, but you can use corn starch (or corn flour) if you don't have it. By the way, "kake" means to "pour over" so an-kake is a dish with gravy on it. Miyuki Suyari -
Fried Hardcrab & Gravy Fried Hardcrab & Gravy
When I was a little girl I remember my brothers and sisters going crabbing and my mother making this dish. Without fail the neighbors would smell it and come running wanting to share it with us. My mom would make mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables as well as fresh bread for dipping in the gravy. Yum, Yum. It became one of my favorite meals. I now make it for my family and friends and I must admit it still causes the neighbors to want some. Rhonda Gross -

Vegan mashed potatoes and gravy Vegan mashed potatoes and gravy
It's Thanksgiving, so I figured I would share my favorite #vegan version of homemade mashed potatoes and gravy. It's simple to make and delicious comfort food. I will add photos when I make it later today :)I apologize that the quantities are very non-specific. This recipe is based on my mom's recipe, where you "just know" how much is enough. Everything is tailored to your liking--whether you like thick gravy or thin, lumpy potatoes or creamy, there is no way to go wrong here! Ann Jeffers -
