Ingredients

30 minutes
2 servings
  1. 2-1/2 cupscooked basmati rice
  2. 3medium sized onion sliced
  3. 1 tsp- Cumin seeds
  4. 1/2 tsp- Mustard seeds
  5. 2-3whole dry red chilli
  6. 2green chillies finely chopped
  7. 1 inchginger
  8. 2-3 tbsp-Mustard oil/Refined oil
  9. 1 tsp- Turmeric powder
  10. 1 tsp- Red chilli powder
  11. 1 tsp- coriander powder
  12. 2-3 tbsp- Lemon juice
  13. as neededSome mint & coriander leaves
  14. to tasteSalt

Steps

30 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat oil in a pan. Then add whole dry red chilli, cumin & mustard seed,ginger &green chillies. Saute everything altogether.

  2. 2

    Add sliced onion and cook this over low heat until the onion turns soft and translucent.

  3. 3

    Then add turmeric,red chilli,coriander powder and salt.Mix well.

  4. 4

    Add boiled rice, lemon juice,mint & coriander leaves. Cook for 2-3 minutes and stir it very carefully.

  5. 5

    Serve hot with onion raita or any of your favourite raita.
