Ingredients

  1. 2.2 lbsboneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 kg)
  2. 1 tablespoonsalt
  3. 1/4 cupvinegar (60 ml)
  4. 1/4 cuplemon juice (60 ml)
  5. 1 tablespoonmixed spice blend
  6. 1 tablespoononion powder
  7. 1 tablespoongarlic powder
  8. 1 tablespoonfreshly grated ginger
  9. Pinchpaprika
  10. 1/2 cupvegetable oil (120 ml)
  11. 1 cupplain yogurt (240 ml)
  12. Pinchground cardamom
  13. Zest of 1 lemon
  14. Pinchcinnamon
  15. Shraak bread or thin flatbread
  16. Pickles
  17. French fries

Steps

    Slice the chicken breasts into long strips.

  2. 2

    Add all the spices, oil, vinegar, yogurt, lemon juice, and lemon zest.

  3. 3

    Mix the ingredients well.

  4. 4

    Let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, to absorb the flavors.

  5. 5

    Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.

  6. 6

    Add a little oil to the skillet.

  7. 7

    Add the chicken strips in batches.

  8. 8

    Cook until the chicken is fully cooked through.

  9. 9

    Take shraak bread or thin flatbread.

  10. 10

    Spread a little mayonnaise, then add the chicken, pickles, and roll it up.

  11. 11

    Serve with French fries on the side.
