Steps
- 1
Take 1-cup sugar, 3 green cardamom pods, 1½ cups water and 1-2 drops of lemon juice in a deep pot or pan. Lemon juice is added to prevent syrup from solidifying when it cools.
- 2
Heat it over medium flame and cook until it reaches Sticky consistency like honey while stirring occasionally in between. It will take around 8-10 minutes over medium flame to reach the required consistency. When sugar syrup is ready, turn off the flame.
- 3
Take all the dry ingredients and mix them well with your hands.
- 4
Then add ghee. Mix it well in the dry ingredients
- 5
Add 2 tbsp milk to it and mix gently. If required add more milk. Make a dough. Do not over mix it.
- 6
Grease you hands with oil or ghee and from the mixture make marble size ball.
- 7
Make sure to make your balls crack free.
- 8
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Once the oil is ready, put these balls in to the oil and let it sit over a couple of minutes. Then move a spoon into your oil. This is let your ball cook evenly from all side.
- 9
Once the ball turns into golden brown take them out.
- 10
If your sugar syrup cools down just heat it for 2-3 minute. To get it Lukewarm. Dip all the fried gulab jamun in it. Let it rest in the syrup at least for 3-4 hours.
- 11
After 3-4 hours your gulab jamun are ready to enjoy 😊
