Ingredients

  1. 3 cupscooked rice
  2. 2 tbspbutter
  3. 1 tbspoil
  4. 2 tspcumin seeds
  5. 1/2 cuponion, chopped
  6. 1 tspginger-garlic paste
  7. 1 cup tomato, chopped
  8. 1/3 cupgreen bell pepper, chopped
  9. 1/3 cupred bell pepper, chopped
  10. 1/3 cupcabbage, chopped
  11. 1/3 cupcarrot, chopped
  12. 1/3 cupgreen peas
  13. 2 tbsppav bhaji masala
  14. 1 tspcoriander powder
  15. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  16. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  17. to tasteSalt
  18. 3 tbspcoriander leaves, chopped
  19. 3 tbspmint leaves, chopped
  20. 1 tbsplemon juice

Steps

35 minutes
  1. 1

    Boil water in a pot. Add carrots and green peas. Boil for about 5 minutes or until they are tender. Then drain the water out. Keep it aside.

    In a non-stick pan heat butter and oil on medium flame. Add cumin seeds and cook until aromat.

    Add chopped onions and saute until golden brown.

    Add ginger-garlic paste and cook till the raw smell disappears.

    Then add chopped tomatoes, green bell pepper, red bell pepper and cabbage. Mix well.

    Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes.

    Add pav bhaji masala, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt. Mix everything nicely.

    Cook for 2-3 minutes.

    Add the boiled carrots and green peas. Mix well.

    Add cooked rice. Gently mix everything without breaking the rice.

    Add chopped mint and coriander leaves. Pour lemon juice. Mix everything well.

    Serve hot with raita and onion.
