Ingredients

25 minutes
4 persons
  • 250 gmkatla fish pieces
  • 2medium onion paste
  • 1 teaspoonginger paste
  • 1 teaspoongarlic chopped
  • 4 tablespoonstomato puree
  • Whole spices (3 cloves, 3 cardamom pods, 1 cinnamon stick)
  • 2whole red chilli
  • 3 tablespoonsyogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  • 1 teaspooncumin powder
  • 1 teaspoongaram masala powder
  • 2 teaspoonred chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoonscashew paste
  • 4 tablespoonsfresh cream
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1 teaspoonsugar
  • 6 tablespoonsmustard oil
  • 2 teaspoonsghee

Steps

25 minutes
  1. 1

    Marinade the fish with 1/2 teaspoon salt and a pinch turmeric powder. Heat oil in a pan and fry fish until they are golden brown in colour.

    Take out the fish and add 1 teaspoon ghee in same oil and add all whole spices, bay leaf and red chilli.

    Now add the onion paste and fry it for 6 - 7 minutes, then add ginger paste and chopped garlic, stir constantly until raw smell goes off.

    Then add all spices powder mix well and add tomato puree.

    Now add the cashew paste mix yogurt and mix well. Cook until the oil separates from the masala.

    It's time to add 1 cup of water and bring it to a boil. When it comes to a boil add fish pieces and cook for 5 minutes by covering the pan.

    Once the gravy is nicely thick add fresh cream mix well and switch off the flame. And sprinkle the garam masala powder mix well.
