Cooking Instructions
- 1
In a bowl add your cake mix and melted butter, mix well and slowly add 2 eggs until well incorporated.
- 2
In a separate bowl add your cream cheese, 4 eggs and powder sugar (slowly add sugar in stages to reduce mess) and beat until smoothe, no lumps
- 3
In a greased pan pour your yellow cake mix and evenly spread with a spatula
- 4
Then pour your cream cheese mixture on top of the cake mix and sprinkle with cinnamon.
- 5
In a 350° preheated oven bake for 45-50 mins until the top is golden brown. There will be some wiggle in the center, that's normal.
- 6
Let chill for a few hours, overnight is even better. Cut and enjoy!

Well I was hanging out with my girlfriend (pintrest) looking for a recipe for German butter cake OMG. Years ago my father who is a baker used to make these. And I absolutely love them. Whenever I was out of his sight at the bakery he would make me talk to make sure I wasn't eating lol. Then I found them at Riekers Prime meats here in Philadelphia. You have to get there early to get those buttery pans of heaven. Anyway I saw this one and decided to try it out. I actually added about 1/2 cup less powdered sugar. Even with that, it is very deliciously sweet and rich. I also left out the optional chips and nuts because I didn't have any on hand and nuts are too hard on hubby's teeth. Will absolutely make again!! LBeyard -

I went out to eat at a fancy schmancy restaurant and they served a butter cake. It was... probably the best thing they served. It was a little crispy, buttery. Can a cake be sexy? That’s what it was. I never heard of a butter cake, never tried one. I looked into it and this is my rendition. Karl
