Cooking Instructions
- 1
Set oven to 475F, take out a pan while it heats up and drizzle olive oil over it.
- 2
Slice up soft shell tortillas into the sizes you desire, and lay them across the oil covered pan. Sprinkle the chili powder, pepper, and salt across the chips as prefered.
- 3
Place the soon-to-be chips in the oven, and turn it off. Make sure it stays in the oven for at least 12 min.
- 4
Take out whenever you want. If you want crispy chips, you should wait 15 min and let them sit for 20 min. But I like slightly soft and thick - so pull them out at 13 min and eat right away if you agree. :)

Simple salt-flavored tortilla chips weren't available in my neighborhood before, so I've been making my own chips for a while. They're a hit when I serve them to guests with avocado dip, so this has been in my standard repertoire for 12 years. If you are using store-bought corn tortillas, cut them into triangles with scissors. In Step 3, if you find the tortilla mix hard to handle, coat your hands in oil and roll it into balls.Since the chips are served with dip, I didn't salt them. They are delicious when freshly fried, and simply flavored with salt and spices of your choice.Spread the mixture thinly for crispy results. Recipe by Brandy cookpad.japan -
